Animal Addiction
June 28th, 2011 by adminI spent the first 6 months of 2010 in China… and in the time I spent there I realized how much I loved to sketch black and white inked animals. I recently opened an etsy shop, and these are 2 of the images I sketched for my grand opening!
New Beginnings
May 30th, 2011 by admin
I have often thought of starting a blog, and now I have run out of excuses and simply must begin. I am excited to announce that I will begin classes to obtain my masters in painting this fall. To get ready for this endeavor I will be working on projects. This blog will capture my journey through art school and as a beginning artist.
For those of you who don’t know my favorite media is mixed media. Collage is a wonderful thing that brings texture, color, and shape into our everyday lives; combining new and old. I hope to learn about all of you and invite comments and questions and I hope to share a part of my self!
Grad School Acceptance
May 30th, 2011 by adminIn 2008 I graduated University with a degree in Business and a minor in Art. I worked a few odd jobs, had a few art shows, and through a series of events wound up in China for a few months. It was there that I discovered I was in serious need of a future. I needed something to get up for in the morning, something to work for, and something to make a paycheck. I’m still working on the paycheck thing, but I’ve decided that as a career I’d like to work as a University Art teacher. To do that I need a masters and some experience.
I began applying for Masters of Art programs, and last month I was accepted to the program at the Academy of Arts University in San Fransisco. I love this program because I can do it all online in the comfort of my own home and continue living in lovely Walla Walla Washington.
Applying for this program was one of the most nerve wracking things that I’ve ever done. I honestly didn’t think I would be accepted, but I beat the odds and I made it in. The work I did to apply for this school included some nudes, portraits, and some landscapes. They turned out well!

Work Space
May 30th, 2011 by adminSince I will be spending a lot of time in my studio come fall, I am looking at revamping my space to give me a bit more elbow room. This is my current space:
I’m thinking that adding another desk would be splendid. Thus these two desks are the ones I’m thinking about. What do you think?
